KDO does Spring Planting

Mrs. Cheryl has been so kind this year to introduce the preschoolers to the art of gardening. The kids have been encouraged to help plant, water, pull weeds and gather caterpillars! Of course they have also been able to taste some of the fruit of their labors. What a great way of teaching children how God provides for our every need.

The children (and adults) were thrilled to drive up to school and see the red barn on wheels unloading animals on Tuesday morning! Each class went out and spent 30 minutes with ducks, geese, goats, a calf, a horse, pigs and bunnies. The children loved getting to feed a bottle to the piggies and the baby goats. They also hand fed the calf, horse and goats. The furry little bunnies were probably the favorite of most the children. They just could not get enough snuggles from those cute little rabbits. This was a fun event to conclude the study of animals. Thank YOU God for animals.

First Week Underway

It has been a long time in the planning and finally September 4, Kids Day Out at Life Church opened the doors to preschoolers and their families!  I’m sure everyone was a bit nervous.  The kids had looks of excitement but a little reservation as they entered the building; some even hiding behind a parent’s leg.  But, drop off went off without a hitch and all children happily stayed and waved good-bye.  Parents departed, leaving their beloved children with their teachers.  Not one teary eye in the building, except maybe a mom or two.  And, there was one sibling who really wanted to stay and play.  The learning begins!  So much to do on a first day of school!  It flew by quickly.  Recess, chapel, centers, lunch and circle time.  Before, we knew it, parents were back to collect their very tired but happy prechooler.  It is good to get that first day behind us.  Now, we can all relax and really have some fun!
